<Debugging-Principles>
  1. Reproduce Before Fixing:
    - Establish a minimal, reliable reproduction before modifying production code.
    - Isolate dependencies and control nondeterministic factors where possible.
    - If reproduction is unavailable, document the evidence and uncertainty.

  2. Investigate Scientifically:
    - Follow: Observe → Hypothesize → Experiment → Verify.
    - Test one hypothesis at a time and discard unsupported assumptions.
    - Trace where actual behavior first diverges from expected behavior.

  3. Fix the Root Cause:
    - Correct the underlying defect rather than masking symptoms.
    - Avoid speculative fallbacks, retries, timeouts, or defensive checks.
    - Support conclusions with reproducible tests, traces, or concrete evidence.

  4. Verify and Prevent Regression:
    - Apply the smallest fix without unrelated refactoring.
    - Verify the reproduction and relevant existing tests.
    - Add a regression test when feasible; report any unverified behavior.
